Two Maltese productions win a Golden Knight Award

Sunday, 30 November 2025, 08:55 Last update: about 9 months ago

Two productions from Malta feature amongst the top five winners of this year's edition of the Golden Knight Malta International Film Festival.  This is indeed good news and is proof that Maltese film makers have reached the high level required to compete internationally, even if presently in the short film category.

The festival, organised by the Malta Cine Circle, has been running for 63 years which makes it one of the longest-running festivals of its kind worldwide.  Over these years it has grown in stature and is today one of the most prestigious  international short film festivals. Over 320 productions  have been submitted for this year's edition. During recent months, a team of assessors have been going through a pre-selection process, at the end of which a final selection of 18 films were presented to the jury of five judges.

The show of the winning films and the presentation of awards will be held on Saturday 6 December at 7pm at the Malta Experience Theatre, Valletta. This edition is supported by the Malta Tourism Authority through Visit Malta.

Admission is free of charge and bookings may be placed either on [email protected]  or call 9946 0866.
