As part of the activities marking World Human Rights Day, which fell on Wednesday, Leader of the PN Alex Borg met with representatives of Drachma Parents, the Malta LGBTIQ Rights Movement (MGRM) and Checkpoint Malta.

During the discussion, the organisations outlined their priorities and the challenges faced by various people in Malta, including minorities and the LGBTIQ+ community. These challenges include issues relating to equality, access to healthcare services, HIV, access to support services and the realities individuals encounter in their daily lives.

For his part, the PN Leader reiterated the party's commitment to respect, inclusion and human dignity, emphasising that human rights are universal and non-negotiable. He stressed that continuous engagement with stakeholders is essential to ensure that policy is rooted in real and lived experience.

He also referred to the PN's commitment to strengthening sexual health services, including its pledge to ensure free access to PrEP, the improvement of community-based services and the need to ensure that existing laws on equality and anti-discrimination are fully implemented in practice.

Accompanied by Shadow Minister for Equality, Civil Liberties and Public Broadcasting Graziella Attard Previ and by the President of the Forum Opportunitajiet Indaqs Partit Nazzjonalista (FOIPN) Jamie Vella, together with FOIPN member Maria Victoria Theuma, Alex Borg thanked the organisations for their ongoing contribution to Maltese society.

He expressed his party's willingness to continue maintaining a structured and regular dialogue so that policy is shaped by evidence, compassion and justice.
