35 people were detained by the police following operations carried out in Marsa, the police said.

The individuals were arrested after spontaneous patrols at various locations known for picking up to illegal employment, as well as inspections on public transport.

The police found people without Maltese residence permits in circumstances indicating they were in the country for work purposes in violation of the Immigration Act.

These inspections continued the work carried out throughout 2025, which is expected to intensify in the coming days and weeks, the police said.

The police were assisted by officials from the Agency for the Detention Services.
