First-time author and publisher Joseph 'Spice' Spiteri has donated €1,000 from the proceeds of his recently released book, Too Much Laughter, Once You Cry!, to the Puttinu Cares Foundation, as part of a wider initiative aimed at supporting Maltese charities.

Spiteri said the donation was made possible thanks to the support of readers, friends and donors who believed in the project from the outset. The names of supporters and contributors are listed on his website, Spice.mt.

A further €1,000 was also presented this week to Beating Hearts Malta. Spiteri said the organisation holds a particularly special place in his heart, making the contribution especially meaningful.

The two donations bring the total contribution from the project to €2,000 for Maltese charities. Spiteri also revealed that nearly 1,000 copies of the book have already been sold, and expressed hope that more readers and sponsors will continue to support the initiative.

He added that Too Much Laughter, Once You Cry! is expected to become available in the coming weeks at several leading bookshops across Malta and Gozo, as well as at the airport.

A collection of posters featuring artwork from the project is also expected to be released in the coming weeks, with proceeds from poster sales set to support both charities.

"I am grateful to everyone who supported this journey," Spiteri said. "Seeing a creative project turn into something that can also help others is truly special."

He added that he hopes the project will continue to grow with the support of the community, helping to raise further awareness and funds for important Maltese charitable organisations.
