A 17-year-old girl from Mgarr was hospitalised with grievous injuries yesterday evening after a roof collapsed while she was on top of it.

The incident occurred at approximately 6.15 pm near a group of rooms in the outskirts of Gnejna Bay. Police were alerted to the scene shortly after the collapse.

Members of the Civil Protection Department and a medical team were dispatched to provide assistance. An ambulance later transported the teenager to Mater Dei Hospital, where she was officially certified as having sustained grievous injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
