Two men have been arrested in St Julian's after police allegedly found them in possession of cocaine, heroin and cannabis during a patrol.

A police statement on Tuesday said that police surveillance in the area of St Julian's led to the arrest of a 26-year-old man from Żurrieq and a 23-year-old man from Senglea, who were found in possession of various types of drugs.

During patrols carried out earlier on Tuesday, police officers noticed the men acting suspiciously while inside a Toyota Vitz.

They were stopped in Triq Portomaso, where a search was conducted.

Substances suspected to be cocaine, heroin and cannabis were found, along with an amount of cash and several mobile phones.

The men are currently being held at the police lock-up in Floriana, while investigations are ongoing.
