Two people were injured in two separate traffic accidents on Thursday, police said in a statement.

Police said that the first accident happened in Triq Andrea Debono in Naxxar at around 9:15am.

The accident involved a Toyota Auris being driven by a 40-year-old woman from Naxxar and a Peugeot Django being ridden by a 42-year-old man from Naxxar.  The motorcyclist was taken to hospital and certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

The second accident happened a little bit later at 9:50am in Regional Road in Santa Venera.

That accident involved a Nissan being driven by a 71-year-old woman from St Paul’s Bay and a Kawasaki being ridden by a 35-year-old man from Swieqi.  The latter was hospitalised and is suffering from grievous injuries as well.

Police said that investigations into both accidents are ongoing.
