The country has the chance of a fresh start, with the election giving the people the possibility of choosing a new chapter, Nationalist Party leader said Monday evening.

In an address to the Nation this evening, Borg said that the moment has arrived for a national choice in which the Maltese and Gozitan people will decide whether the country continues along the same path or chooses a fresh start founded on seriousness, trust and a better quality of life than the one we are living today.

Borg said that this election is not about power or billboards, but about the everyday lives of families, workers, young people, pensioners and businesses who today are feeling the burden of traffic, the rising cost of living, bureaucracy and pressure on public services.

He stressed that the PN wants to continue building on what is working well and believes in a strong economy, but above all believes in an economy whose fruits reach the people. Borg said that Malta needs a new model that creates wealth through value, productivity, skills and technology, rather than by continuing to increase pressure on our roads, land, schools, hospitals and communities.

A government led by the PN would protect the economy, while making it work better for the people. A Nationalist Government would be a government that gives more time to families, more opportunities to young people, more respect to the elderly and greater peace of mind to everyone who works hard and strives, he said.

Borg also addressed all those who in the past voted differently or who lost faith in politics, telling them that the door of the PN is open to every Maltese and Gozitan who wants a new direction for the country. He said that this is not a campaign against anyone, but a campaign for Malta and for Gozo.

Borg said that the Partit Nazzjonalista will lead a positive, strong but respectful campaign, built on serious proposals and a clear vision for the future of our country.
