Two men were arrested on Tuesday afternoon in connection with drug trafficking after police allegedly found cannabis, cocaine and heroin during surveillance operations in Għaxaq.
Police said that at around 3.45pm, officers conducting surveillance in Triq id-Dejl noticed two men near a playground who raised suspicions.
Following searches carried out on the men and the vehicle they were using, police allegedly found 70 sachets containing a substance suspected to be cannabis, 24 packets containing a substance suspected to be cocaine, and 16 packets containing a substance suspected to be heroin.
The two men, aged 34 and 20, residing in Ħamrun and Qormi respectively, were arrested and were arraigned in court on Wednesday at around noon before Magistrate Astrid May Grima.
