The deportation of Mohamed Ali Ahmed Elmushraty, commonly known by his nickname "Lilu King," is being discussed between Maltese and Libyan authorities, together with the Libyan government in Tripoli, the national broadcasting station said Friday.

His deportation is being considered given his long list of criminal allegations, according to TVM News.

The report says Lilu King's deportation back to Libya is being discussed with Libya's Attorney General, Al-Siddiq Al-Sour. Elmushraty's lawyers have repeatedly pleaded that he was being persecuted in Libya and so should remain in Malta for his own safety. His past asylum application, through which he was requesting refugee status and, through it, international protection in Malta, was rejected.

It is expected for Elmushraty's lawyers to oppose his deportation should this make it to court.

Lilu King was in Court just earlier this month over an "extremely graphic" San Ġwann assault where he faced serious charges relating to non-consensual sexual acts, abduction, aggravated theft, and psychological torture.
