Prime Minister Robert Abela received warm greetings and congratulations by European leaders attending a summit in Montenegro on Friday.

In a Facebook video posted on the PM's Facebook page, Abela is seen shaking hands and embracing his counterparts as he arrives for the first meeting.

The meeting is being held  to discuss expanding the bloc to include countries in the region, seen as a key area in countering security and economic threats posed by Russia and China.

Leaders are overheard asking Abela for advice on how he's done it as the Prime Minister says that a fourth successive electoral win in Malta Is unprecedented.

Among those who are seen briefly speaking to the Prime Minister is European Parliament President Roberta Metsola.

Polish head of government Donald Tusk is also overhead remarking about how Abela always appears in great physical shape.
