The Ball of the August Moon, one of Malta's longest standing charitable social events, will be returning to Verdala Castle on Saturday , August 1, in aid of The Malta Community Chest Fund (MCCF).
Details of this year's edition were announced in a press conference during which organisers highlighted how the evening will continue the event's tradition of fine dining, premium refreshments, and entertainment. Guests will be treated to performances by the Armed Forces of Malta Band, featuring a varied musical programme, followed by contemporary music and dancing late into the night.
Addressing the gathering, President Myriam Spiteri Debono described the Ball as one of the MCCF's most important fundraising events, generating vital funds that enable the Foundation to continue supporting individuals and families facing serious illness and hardship.
The President appealed for strong public support to ensure this year's edition builds on the success of previous years.
Chairman of the Organising Committee, Marquis Daniel de Petri Testaferrata, noted that the historic Ball has been organised annually since 1958 and remains committed to maintaining the high standards and quality that have made it a memorable occasion for generations.
MCCF Chairperson Sina Bugeja explained that the Foundation supports patients and their families from the moment they receive a diagnosis, providing financial, psychological and social assistance. She emphasised the importance of fundraising efforts such as the Ball in sustaining the Foundation's work and encouraged the public to support the event.
