A 67-year-old man from Qrendi was grievously injured after a vehicle rolled backwards while he was inside his garage on Triq it-Tempesta in Qrendi on Wednesday morning.

Police said they were informed of the incident at around 8am and immediately went to the scene. Preliminary investigations indicate that, for an as-yet unknown reason, an Isuzu D-Max moved backwards on its own, resulting in the man sustaining injuries to his legs.

A medical team and members of the Civil Protection Department assisted the man at the scene before he was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

He was later certified as having suffered grievous injuries.

Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
