Civil Protection Department personnel from Stations 1, 2, and 4 were deployed to Marsa on Monday evening to battle a structure fire at the site of the former matches factory, the CPD said on its Facebook page.

Crews worked efficiently to extinguish the flames and conducted a thorough sweep of the premises to ensure no hazardous materials remained from the building's industrial past.

The site was cleared with negative results for any danger, and officials confirmed that no injuries were sustained during the incident.

The department extended its gratitude to the Malta Police Force and Transport Malta for their coordinated efforts in supporting the operation.
