Alex Borg has officially filed his declaration of interest in being Nationalist Party leader, the party said in a statement on Thursday.

The PN is undergoing an election process for the post of party leader, a standard process which is guided by the party’s statute for what happens after a general election.

The PN’s Electoral, Records and Data Commission said that Borg filed his declaration of interest at midday on Thursday.

The call for expressions of interest in the post will remain open till Wednesday 1 July.

Only members of the Partit Nazzjonalista with a paid-up membership, in accordance with the provisions of the PN Statute, may contest this post.

The PN’s Electoral, Records and Data Commission said it will immediately and publicly communicate the names of those who express their interest through a media statement for every declaration received.
