A new range of educational opportunities for personal and professional growth has been launched as the Ministry for Education and Sport has released the Lifelong Learning Prospectus for 2026/2027. Featuring more than 450 courses across approximately 100 different subjects, the initiative is designed for individuals aged 15 and over who wish to enhance their knowledge, skills, and competencies.

Minister for Education and Sport Byron Camilleri highlighted that lifelong learning is essential for building a resilient and inclusive society. He noted that in a rapidly changing world, education must be a continuous process that extends well beyond formal schooling, providing individuals with the tools necessary to adapt and succeed.

The prospectus aligns with the National Strategy for Lifelong Learning 2023-2030, building on a significant surge in demand, which saw over 18,000 applications during the previous academic year. The curriculum covers a wide array of fields, including business, science and technology, creative arts, humanities, personal development, and languages. New additions for this year include calligraphy, Portuguese, English pronunciation, time and stress management, and various exam preparatory courses.

To ensure inclusivity, the Ministry has maintained accessibility measures: individuals aged 60 and over are entitled to one free course per year, while exemptions are available for those receiving social benefits and holders of a Disability Card. Applications are open from July 1 to July 31, 2026, and can be submitted via lifelonglearning.gov.mt, at Servizz.gov centers, or through local councils across Malta and Gozo.
