Tragedy struck in Attard yesterday evening when a 71-year-old man lost his life in an accident.

Police were called to assist at a field located on Triq San Ġakbu at approximately 8pm, the police said Saturday.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim, who resided in Mosta, sustained fatal injuries while operating a grinder.

Immediate assistance was provided by a medical team, but the man was unfortunately certified dead at the scene.

Magistrate Dr. Monica Borg Galea LL.D was informed of the incident and has launched a magisterial inquiry.

Police investigations into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy are ongoing.
