The Malta Police Force has said that 108 people were detained by police this past week for residing in Malta illegally.

These arrests were made following inspections that were carried out by immigration police and community police in a number of areas including Marsa and Ħamrun.

The police said that the nationalities of those detained varied between various countries across Europe, Africa, and Asia.

Officers from the Detention Services Agency (DSA) assisted the police in conducting these inspections and arrests.
