Minister for Justice, Research and Innovation Clifton Grima presented warrants to 128 lawyers and 4 new legal procurators who today began their journey in the legal profession after years of study, dedication, and sacrifice.

During the ceremony, Minister Grima congratulated them on this milestone and reminded them that receiving a warrant does not only mark the achievement of a professional qualification, but also a commitment to justice, truth, and service to society.

Minister Grima stated that the Government is committed to further strengthening the justice system through concrete reforms. Among others, he mentioned ongoing work on a reform to strengthen the independence of the process for selecting tribunal members, the development of a new Commercial Court, reform of the Family Courts, as well as the digitalisation of various services and process mapping in the Courts to further improve the efficiency of the judicial system.

He appealed to the newly qualified lawyers and legal procurators to continue investing in their professional development, learn from those who came before them, and continue to carry out their profession with humility, professionalism, and respect towards colleagues, institutions, and citizens.

The ceremony was also addressed by Judge Anthony Ellul, the President of the Chamber of Advocates Dr Peter Fenech, and the President of the Chamber of Legal Procurators Gerald Bonello.

Also present at this ceremony were the Attorney General Dr Victoria Buttigieg, the State Advocate Dr Chris Soler, Permanent Secretary Johan Galea, and the administration of the Courts Services Agency.
