Alex Borg submits his nomination for confirmation as PN leader, voting day on 15 July

Friday, 3 July 2026, 14:59 Last update: about 1 hour ago

Alex Borg has submitted his nomination form for confirmation as Leader of the Partit Nazzjonalista to Mario Callus, Chairperson of the PN Electoral, Records and Data Commission, the Nationalist Party said Friday.

Since there is only one nomination, according to Article 93 of the Statute, "this shall be submitted to a secret vote by the General Council and, for the candidate to be declared elected, he must obtain at least fifty per cent plus one (50% + 1) of the valid votes cast by the councillors who have voted."

In this case, members of the General Council will be asked whether they confirm Alex Borg as PN Leader.

The PN Electoral, Records and Data Commission announced that voting will take place on Wednesday 15 July during the session of the General Council of the Partit Nazzjonalista, which will continue following the opening of the plenary session of 24 June.
