Students who have just sat for their O-Level examinations can expect to receive their results on Wednesday, 15 July, MATSEC published on Friday afternoon.

MATSEC issued a written update, through social media, on Friday where it stated that this year's exam results are currently being processed and that students and parents can expect to receive these results in less than a fortnight.

MATSEC said that, starting this year, results will be published on the MATSEC portal, through which candidates can access their marks directly from there by using their E-ID.

Candidates will also be notified via SMS, e-mail, and social media that when to access the MATSEC portal for their results on the day.

Last year, over 9,000 students received their MATSEC results on the very same day, 15 July. Around 3,760 students received their matriculation certificate while an estimated 5,250 students obtained their Secondary Education Certificate (SEC) results.

This year will mark the second June examination session where O-Level exams only factor for 30% of students' global grade per subject, under the student-based assessment (SBA) model. Since this new system was rolled out, 70% of students' global mark per subject comprised of assessments throughout the school year, given out by their classroom teachers. Before the SBAs were introduced, O-Level exams were responsible for 100% of the mark in most cases; minor exceptions lied in practicals for science subjects, for example.
