A man lost his life on Friday morning after falling from a height of around four storeys in Portomaso Avenue, St Julian's, the police said.

The police said they were informed of the incident at around 7.30am.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the man, who was later identified as an 18-year-old man from Spain, fell from a height of approximately four storeys.

A medical team was called to the scene, but he was unfortunately certified dead on site.

Magistrate Dr Philip Galea Farrugia LL.D. has been informed of the case and appointed an inquiry, while police investigations are ongoing.
