St George's Bay will host Beach Fest 2026 on Sunday 12 July, the Ministry for Local Government and Public Works and the Ministry for Tourism said in statement.
The event will take place between 6pm and 11pm and is being organised jointly by the Tourism Zones Regeneration Agency (TZRA), the Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) and the St Julian's Local Council.
The festival was announced by Minister for Local Government and Public Works Alison Zerafa Civelli and Minister for Tourism Jo Etienne Abela. It follows the inaugural edition held last year, which organisers described as a success.
Speaking at the launch, Zerafa Civelli said the event demonstrates how collaboration between public entities and local councils can revitalise public spaces while strengthening communities. She said Beach Fest offers quality entertainment while also promoting education, sustainability and a stronger sense of belonging among residents.
Abela said the festival reflects the government's commitment to creating quality experiences that enhance Malta's tourism offering while benefiting local communities. He added that events such as Beach Fest encourage families, residents and visitors to enjoy destinations in a safe, clean and vibrant environment, while promoting environmental education, sustainability and culture.
St Julian's Mayor Guido Dalli said the festival has been designed to offer entertainment for all age groups while celebrating St George's Bay as a unique destination. He also thanked the government for supporting the initiative.
Organisers noted that St George's Bay is the only beach in Malta to hold both the international Blue Flag certification, administered by the Malta Tourism Authority, and the United Kingdom's Purple Flag accreditation, coordinated by the Tourism Zones Regeneration Agency in collaboration with the Paceville Town Centre Management.
The programme will feature a range of educational and recreational activities, including first aid demonstrations, marine life and environmental sustainability displays, exhibitor stands including an EcoMarket, a classic car exhibition, art spaces and free face painting for children.
The evening's entertainment will include live performances by Tikka Banda, Owen Leuellen, Dawn Desira, Amelia, Kaya Gurmi, The Subdominants Big Band, Victoria, Kyle George and Justine Shorfid.
Also present for the launch were Tourism Zones Regeneration Agency Chief Executive Dennis Vella and Paceville Town Centre Management Chairman Philip Fenech.
