A 76-year-old man has died after falling off a ladder at his own residence and falling three storeys into an internal yard.

Police said on Friday morning that it was informed at around 7:45am of the accident.

The accident occurred in Ta' Ċenċ, Sannat, Gozo.

The Malta Police Force said that initial investigations indicated that the 76-year-old man was doing works on his own residence when he fell off his ladder and landed in an internal yard, three storeys below.

He was certified dead at the scene as soon as a medical team arrived for assistance.

Magistrate Jean Paul Grech will be leading the inquiry into this case. Police investigations are ongoing.
