The Ministry for Justice, Research and Innovation has issued a call for the appointment of two judges.

Applicants who satisfy the criteria established in the Constitution of Malta and express their interest will be evaluated by the Judicial Appointments Committee, established under Article 96A of the Constitution, the ministry said in a statement.

Following this evaluation process, the names of three candidates for each vacancy will be submitted for the President's consideration and selection.

“This call further confirms the Ministry's commitment to continuing to strengthen what is the largest judiciary in Malta's history,” the ministry said on Friday.

The Minister for Justice, Research and Innovation, Clifton Grima, emphasised the Government's ongoing and consistent commitment to strengthening the judiciary, complementing the various reforms currently underway in Malta's justice sector. He stated that this strengthening of human resources and specialisation is how the Government is continuing to raise standards with the aim of increasing efficiency in this field.

Interested applicants must submit their application, together with all required documents, no later than Friday, 7 August 2026, at 12:00 p.m., to the Secretary of the Judicial Appointments Committee.
