A 28-year-old man was hospitalised with grievous injuries following a traffic collision in Birkirkara on Saturday morning, the police said.

The accident occurred at approximately 11am on Triq Fleur-de-Lys. Preliminary police investigations indicate that a collision took place between an Isuzu Elf van, driven by a 64-year-old man from Birkirkara, and a Surron Ultra Bee motorcycle ridden by the 28-year-old victim, who resides in Balzan.

A medical team was dispatched to the scene, and the motorcyclist was transported to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. He was later certified to have suffered grievous injuries.

Police investigations into the accident are currently ongoing.
