A 37-year-old woman was arrested by police and charged in court with drug trafficking after she was caught while in possession of a litany of drugs.

Police said in a statement that a search in the woman’s St Julian’s residence on Tuesday morning resulted in the finding of several packets and bags which were filled with several types of illegal substances.

The substances were suspected to be cocaine, ecstasy, MDMA, ketamine, tusi, and cannabis grass.

Other objects “related to trafficking” were also found.

Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia is leading an inquiry.

The woman meanwhile was charged under arrest before Magistrate Ann Marie Thake with aggravated drug possession, drug trafficking, and money laundering among other offences.

She pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody.
