Final preparations are underway at the Ta' Qali Concert Area ahead of the seventh edition of SummerDaze, with organisers and officials highlighting the festival's growing role in strengthening Malta's reputation as an international destination for music, the Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) said in a statement.
MTA Chairman Charles Mangion and Head of Unit of the Malta National Park Ta' Qali Jason Micallef visited the concert venue together with the organisers to review the final stages of preparation before the two-night festival takes place next week.
This year's edition will feature headline performances from international music stars Lewis Capaldi on 11 August and Calvin Harris on 15 August, alongside a selection of local artists who will showcase Maltese talent on the same stage.
Over the years, SummerDaze has developed into one of the island's leading events, forming part of Malta's international cultural and tourism calendar while attracting visitors from overseas, the statement said.
The festival's combination of globally recognised performers and local musicians is expected to draw thousands of attendees and further demonstrate Malta's ability to host major international productions.
"SummerDaze Malta is much more than an international concert. It represents an investment in positioning Malta as a tourism destination, which increases our visibility overseas and attracts visitors who seek memorable and authentic experiences," Mangion said.
He added that events of this scale support Malta's vision of developing a sustainable tourism sector while creating opportunities for the local economy and businesses.
"The achievements of SummerDaze Malta are the result of close cooperation between government, the Malta Tourism Authority, the organisers, and all the entities that contribute to making this event possible. It continues to reinforce Malta's position as one of the Mediterranean's leading destinations for international events," Mangion said.
Micallef highlighted the importance of the facilities available at Ta' Qali National Park in enabling Malta to host major events across different areas of the site.
"We are very satisfied with how the different large spaces created at the Ta' Qali National Park are making it possible to host major international events simultaneously across various zones," he said.
"A clear example is the Concert Area, which offers extensive, unique facilities in our country, alongside all the surrounding green spaces."
The MTA Chairman also noted that SummerDaze has become an attraction in its own right, encouraging visitors to travel specifically to experience the festival while enhancing the island's appeal as a tourism destination.
Through the mix of international headliners and local performers, this year's edition is expected to provide a diverse musical experience bringing together residents and visitors in celebration of music and entertainment.
The organisers said the 2026 edition continues to raise the standard for the festival, featuring a world-class line-up and reinforcing Malta's growing reputation as a destination capable of hosting high-profile international productions.
