A person who suffered a head injury after falling at Blata l-Bajda, in the limits of Selmun, was rescued during a coordinated operation involving the Civil Protection Department (CPD) and the Armed Forces of Malta (AFM).
The Civil Protection Department said in a Facebook post it was alerted yesterday afternoon that an individual required medical assistance after falling from standing height in the area.
A joint rescue operation was immediately launched, with an AFM rescuer providing initial assistance to the casualty.
The injured person was then transported by a Civil Protection Department land asset to a safe and accessible location before being handed over to an ambulance crew waiting at Fort Campbell for further medical treatment.
The Civil Protection Department thanked the Armed Forces of Malta, the Malta Police Force and the Emergency Department at Mater Dei Hospital for their assistance during the operation.
