A man who was filmed illegally dumping waste in a Marsa street over the weekend is set to face charges after police identified him within 24 hours of the incident.
The Malta Police Force said in a statement on Facebook that it has identified the man responsible for the illegal dumping of waste in Triq is-Serkin, Marsa, earlier this weekend and will be issuing charges against him for his actions.
A video circulating on social media - shared by the mayor of Marsa, Luke Farrugia - depicted a man and his child unloading garbage out of their pick-up truck and dumping it illegally onto the side of the street before leaving the scene.
On Sunday, the police said that they identified the person involved within less than 24 hours from the incident, which was captured on CCTV footage.
The police said that the person involved admitted to their actions once approached. The person was also informed that charges will be issued against him.
