Twenty-four individuals from Africa and Asia are currently being held in detention after being found living and working illegally in Malta for several months, the police said Friday.

Following multiple reports received in recent days, the police, assisted by detention officers, carried out a series of targeted inspections across Marsa.

The apprehended individuals are now awaiting repatriation to their countries of origin or to nations where they hold legal residency rights.
