A 15-year-old girl has suffered serious injuries following an e-kick scooter accident in Żebbuġ on Tuesday night, the police said.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident on Mdina Road at around 10pm. Police officers quickly arrived at the scene, where initial investigations revealed that the teenager lost control of the e-scooter and crashed.

A medical team provided immediate assistance at the scene before transferring the young victim to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. Medical staff later certified her injuries as serious.

Magistrate Dr. Renata Farrugia LL.D has been informed of the crash and has opened an inquiry into the incident. Police investigations remain ongoing.
