A Romanian woman, 38, was hospitalised following a traffic accident in Mqabba on Wednesday morning.

In a statement, the police said that medical assistance was requested after a traffic accident occurred involving the Romanian woman and a 77-year-old man from Kirkop. The 38-year-old was riding her Yamaha motorcycle. The Kirkop resident was driving a Toyota Hilux.

The traffic accident occurred in Triq il-Konvoj ta' Santa Marija, Mqabba, at 9:30am.

The Romanian woman was given medical assistance at the scene before being taken to Mater Dei Hospital via ambulance for additional care. She was certified with grievous injuries after being admitted in the hospital.

Police investigations are still ongoing.
