Prime Minister Robert Abela announced on Friday that the theme for Budget 2027, is "Malta miegħek" ("Malta with you").

In a short video announcement, Abela said that earlier this May, during this year's general election campaign, he had pledged that his government would be there for the people at every stage of life, and "now, you will concretely feel like the country is on your side. That is why Malta will remain with you."

He said that Monday's Budget will be a responsible and prudent one, though still a "very strong one."

Abela said that in being "very strong," Monday's budget will distribute wealth into people's pockets, invest in quality of life and wellbeing, and also provide a clear direction for the future.

"In what is another moment of trial, our country's leadership shall remain with the Maltese and Gozitans that have lived, worked, and built their families in Malta and Gozo," Abela said.

He also said that while other European populations are protesting against the increasing cost of living and high energy prices, Malta has stability and peace of mind because of his government's policies to carry the burden of these challenges, instead of placing them onto local families.

Budget 2027 will take place on the evening of Monday, 26 October.
