Prime Minister Robert Abela has officially inaugurated Buddha-Bar Malta, a new private investment exceeding €6 million that introduces the iconic global gastronomy and hospitality brand to the island, a government statement said.
Speaking at the inauguration, the Prime Minister commended Maltese investors for their confidence in the local economy and their commitment to elevating Malta's hospitality standards. He noted that the project aligns directly with the government's strategic shift toward higher quality, increased productivity, and enhanced added value across economic sectors.
"For me, quality must be felt in every detail - in how guests are welcomed, the expertise of the staff, the consistency of the food, and the overall professionalism of the service," Abela stated. He highlighted that this ambition needs to be adopted industry-wide to turn investment into elevated experiences for visitors and superior career prospects for workers.
Featuring seating for around 250 guests, Buddha-Bar Malta offers a blend of Asian-inspired dining, signature ambient music, and world-class entertainment under one roof. Originally founded in Paris in 1996, the Buddha-Bar brand is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year with a footprint in global destinations such as Dubai, Monte-Carlo, Prague, Marrakech, and Mykonos.
The Prime Minister underscored the role of such high-end investments in driving skills development and specialized training within culinary arts, hospitality management, and entertainment.
