The ministers signed the Prague Declaration 2004 in which they promise to deal with various health issues concerning contemporary society, such as the quality of life, the integration of the elderly into society and the cost of healthcare.
Malta’s Health Minister Louis Deguara attended the conference and made observations on smoking and the recently implemented laws.
Health ministers from Italy, Ireland, Austria, Holland and Greece also attended the conference. These ministers, particularly the Irish, had words of praise for the initiative Malta has shown by implementing the smoking ban.
