The directorate’s website includes the schedules of all the route buses in great detail, although it remains to be seen whether the departure and arrival times are followed to the letter.

But what is striking, in a ridiculous way, is that the people responsible for the schedules seem to have forgotten that every hour contains 60 minutes, and once those 60 minutes have passed, another hour starts.

A quick look at most of the route schedules reveals that, astonishingly, there are buses that for example leave at 7.60, when this should say that they leave at 8.00. Again, other buses should arrive at 9.00, and not at 8.60 as indicated on the website.

It is an extremely good idea for the directorate to have these listings on its website – it is a service that was greatly needed. But what is also important is that these schedules carry the correct time.
