Union section secretary John Briffa said in a statement that the department had promised to install this system over two years ago after no one was found to man the department’s dark room. As a result, radiographers had to do this work, which did not fall within their duties and responsibilities, and their efficiency decreased. Mr Briffa said the union had no option but to declare an industrial dispute with the department for failing to deliver on a promise it had made.
