Malta Independent Sunday, 5 December 2004, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

The programme will start with some shots of the exhibition of instruments of torture held at the Inquisitors’ Palace in Vittoriosa recently. Experts will discuss the ways how torture was inflicted and there will be a re-enactment which is based on documentation of an actual trail which took place in that very same building.

Among the participants there are: Kenneth Gambin, the curator of the museum at the Inquisitor's Palace, Dr Dennis Gatt with his specialised knowledge of the practice of torture and medical history, and Antoinette Caruana, the CEO of Heritage Malta.

The programme will also discuss the way prison life was then and how it has evolved to th present day and also delves into allegations of corruption and law breaking by the prison wardens themselves
