A Libyan man was yesterday jailed for six months and fined Lm200 after pleading guilty to being in possession of an amount of cannabis which was found in circumstances denoting it was not for his personal use. Musab Miftah Al-Kalbash, 29, from Qawra, admitted to being in possession of a total of 16.7 grammes of cannabis resin on 5 April 1999.
Al-Kalbash told police that he was planning to sell the cannabis because at the time he was unemployed and needed money. Magistrate Lawrence Quintano jailed the Libyan man for six months and ordered him to pay a Lm200 fine.
