A record number of models of varying ages this year participated in the popular Gwida Models of the Year 2006/07. This event, which was held at the Bay Street Complex last weekend, attracted large crowds of people.

There were 90 contestants participating in this year’s show which also featured a children’s section with children from one to 13 years of age. The jury, basing its vote on the children’s self-confidence and charisma, chose four-year old Shanice Calleja and two-year old Xavier Axiaq, who won the Best of All Winners category for children.

The Gwida Models of the Year 2006/07 saw 38 young men and women competing for the title. The winners this year were Chantelle Enriquez, from Ghaxaq who is this year’s Miss Gwida while Shaun Pullicino from Mosta became Mr Gwida.

During the Bay Street event a team of 12 models was also chosen. Each of these models will give an exclusive interview to be featured in the Gwida every month over the coming year.
