Young duo Brooke and Daniele (pictured right) have just released their first single called Una vita con te as well as their first music video together of the song with the same name. The launch was held this morning at St James Cavalier during an event organised by the Malta Academy of Performing Arts, of which both Brooke and Daniele are students. S Club star Frankie Sandford, as well British TV personality Cece Sammy and Christopher Grey, the Managing Director of Greyology Inc., an artistes management company, were present for the event.

Apart from Una vita con te, Brooke and Daniele’s extended single includes five bonus tracks: Quanto amore c’e’, Too much – too soon, A chi mi dice, In fondo all’anima and Futura.

Brooke and Daniele have been performing together for the last two years. Brooke Borg is a lively and outgoing teenager from Mgarr, Malta while Daniele Coletta is a charming and occasionally shy boy-next-door from Rome. Together, they share a strong passion for music, reality TV shows and fashion and Daniele has featured in various Italian commercials and soap operas. They have won various international song contests – both individually and as a duo – and their newly gained experience has made them more at ease in their live performances.

Brooke and Daniele have so much energy and enthusiasm, it can be infectious. At 14, these two young artistes show a maturity and sensitivity that belies their age and comes across strongly in their interpretations.

The duo has just returned from San Remo, Italy, where they participated in the final of the Una Voce per San Remo festival.

This competition was open to all Italian singers aged between 14 and 36 and in fact, Brooke could only take part because she sang a duet with Daniele, who is Italian. They interpreted the song A Chi mi dice.

The young couple had to overcome stiff competition to reach the finals. There were 5,012 participants from all over Italy in the first selection, which was held last July. Two hundred made it to the first round of the semi-finals and 56 to the second round. Finally 19, including Brooke and Daniele, made it to the finals.

The jury for the semi-finals was led by Maestro Luca Pitteri, better known as the vocal coach for participants in Amici hosted by Maria de Filippi. Maestro Pitteri publicly praised Brooke and Daniele, congratulating them for their lovely voices and promised to keep in touch with them. For the final night, the jury’s president was Maestro Peppe Vessicchio, one of the most popular composers in Italy. When interviewed by one of the TV stations covering the festival, Maestro Vessicchio commented “C’e troppo talento…e la coppia giovane e molto interessante.”

The winners of this year’s Una Voce per San Remo was a group of 30-year-olds from Sardinia called Negramaro. Brooke and Daniele have now been invited to return to San Remo during the renowned San Remo Festival to sing on the stage in San Remo Square (around 40 metres away from Teatro Ariston) where RAI will be doing live links during the programme La Vita in Diretta. A huge crowd normally attends this event. Brooke and Daniele will also be special guests on a Sky TV programme called Generazione di Fenomeni hosted by Danilo Daita.

Brooke and Daniele have just entrusted their management and professional development to the Malta Academy of Performing Arts who have also launched a training programme for singers in conjunction with the JC Academy of the UK.
