A new performance based on Treasure Island, translated into Maltese and set to a musical score, will be staged at the Don Bosco Oratory Theatre in Sliema on Sunday 19 and Saturday 25 November.

This new musical play is based on the children’s classic written in 1881 by Robert Louis Stevenson. It was adapted for stage by veteran Gozitan artist Anton Mizzi in collaboration with the late British composer, pianist and gozo resident Alfred Arnold. In fact, the scores for this musical play were the last compositions of Alfred Arnold before passing away in 1985.

These scores were arranged by Mro Joseph Grech who will be conducting the live orchestra during these stage productions.

The artistic direction of this production is in the hands of the same Anton Mizzi. This production is proving to be a great challenge due to the size of the cast and countless changes in the stage set-up which in itself guarantees for sure a spectacular evening.

Treasure Island performances will start at 7.30pm. Bookings can be made at the Don Bosco Oratory daily after 4.30pm. Alternatively, they can be made by phone on 2155-6616 or 9948-7751.
