Popular Paceville nightspot The Alley has been closed for refurbishing since June, but will be back with a bang in pure rock style tomorrow.

Ask anyone aged over 30 where they started their nightlife experience and chances are the answer would be “The Alley” in chorus. Always known as a rock bar, The Alley first opened its doors to patrons in 1984.The Alley will tomorrow be re-launched with a new décor and ambience, new equipment and concepts but going back to its roots of purely rock and rock classics.

The new interior design is “hard” style, with rugged metal pieces coming out of the walls, dimmed directional lighting with a concentration of par cans and moving heads on the stage area. The new The Alley will be hosting live rock bands every Wednesday. The Alley is now a smaller venue, yet bigger in many other ways. Part of the space in the old floor plan has been used to add a new concept to the venue’s portfolio: Amigos. Amigos is an “Express Tapatia e Pizzeria” offering value for money and unrivalled culinary delights such as tortillas, tacos and pizza slices to accompany a night of drinking and partying.Another new concept is a state-of-the-art sound studio that is available for recording sessions all the time. Professional, semi-professional as well as amateur bands, singers and performers or DJs, can now walk in with their talents and walk out with a high quality CD recording, including their photo on the cover. Using the studio is so affordable that it is also available for hen or stag nights for who wants to keep a fond memento of the evening, just for a laugh. Unusual bar stunts will form an integral part of the new Alley concept, giving each customer a “wow” experience nightly with designated activities for each night. These clever promotions will establish a strong identity for the venue by creating a personality that penetrates the specific target segment. The Grima brothers who own the establishment said that they are absolutely delighted to have The Alley back open to the public serving up its traditional rock genre. “We can’t wait to open doors to the public. We’ve missed them and they’ve missed us,” they said.

For the first time in its history, The Alley will also open its doors during daytime, carrying on throughout the night to the early hours of the morning. Welcome back to The Alley.
