Scout Association Inaugurates Beaver Section

Malta Independent Monday, 23 April 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

Celebrating the first centenary of World Scouting, and on the eve of Malta’s very own Scouting centenary next year, the Scout Association of Malta has officially inaugurated the Beaver Section within its ranks.

The launching of the Beaver Section was made by the Chief Commissioner, Godwin D’Anastasi, during the Group Scout Leaders’ forum that was held at the association’s Island Headquarters earlier this month

The Beaver section complements the Cub, Scout, Venture and Rover sections and sees the association’s recruitment age being lowered from seven to five years of age.

The Scout Association is minting a special commemorative medal to mark its 100 years of scouting next year. The medal is to feature the association’s Scout emblem, suspended from a red and white ribbon, denoting the Maltese colours. Both uniform and non-uniform adult members, as well as former scouting members are entitled to wear the 2008 commemorative medal.
