Aluserv swerved past Stringrays to achieve the Second Division Futsal Championship title for an amazing end to a great season.

The League came to an end recently with two important games. In the first game, Energiser Boys beat Thomas Cook in a Promotion decider. Energizer Boys now join Aluserv in next season’s First Division.

In the second game, Aluserv and Stringrays, winners of their respective sections, battled for the title of second division champions.

Stringrays were still unbeaten up to this game, losing only points in their last encounter. On the other hand, Aluserv had been coming from a very difficult section where balanced teams remained close to promotion up to the very last games.

All pointers gave Stringrays a better chance, especially when the latter were leading 2-0 up to half time. However, a tactical change and a boost of determination, showed Aluserv’s true character, when they managed not only to level the score, but also tornado past their opponents and finishing off 7-3, with Aluserv making use of all subs and with coach Lee Connell even making an appearance in the final minutes!

It was a wonderful show by Ilija, Peqqi and Laws up front, supported by midfielders Pawlu, Noel and Sandro and good solid defending by Gordon, Lee and Mark and great goalkeeping by Kurt and Chris.

Aluserv have announced that they have already acquired the services of a Premier Division MFA player with coaching licence to guide them throughout pre-season.
