Repeat Offenderjailed for 10 months

A man who the court said had been given many chances to change his way of life has been jailed for 10 months after being found guilty of theft.

Paul Kavanagh, a 24-year-old Englishman who lives in Malta, was found guilty of stealing a video camera, a camera and a mobile phone on 5 July 2002. He was also found guilty of handling stolen goods.

The man was also found guilty of breaching a number of court judgements.

Handing down her judgement, Magistrate Audrey Demicoli ruled that Kavanagh had been given various chances to get his life back on the right track and therefore jailed him for 10 months.

Police Inspector Geoffrey Cilia prosecuted.
