Surcharge Unchanged

Malta Independent Saturday, 2 June 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 18 years ago

Enemalta Corporation said the June and July surcharge on electricity was remaining unchanged at 45 per cent as a result of measures it had taken.

It was absorbing the 1.2 per cent monthly automatic increase which compensates for the temporary duty and the difference in fuel prices, which between March and May had gone up by 25 per cent.

The automatic increase and the rise in fuel prices should have led to a 65 per cent surcharge, Enemalta said.
