World Heritage conference

World Heritage and Cultural Routes was the theme of a conference organised by Unesco and the Greek Culture Ministry. Dr Ray Bondin was one of the invited guest speakers at this conference.

The conference was inaugurated by the Greek Culture Ministry and was addressed by various important personalities including the Director of the Unesco World Heritage Centre.

The conference discussed the concept of world heritage, the steps for inscription of new property on the World Heritage List, valorisation of world cultural and natural heritage and using Cultural Routes as a tool for intercultural dialogue.

Ray Bondin, who is President of the International Committee of Historic Towns and Villages [CIVVIH] was asked to address the conference on the problems being faced by cities that are on the World Heritage List. He was also asked to address a second seminar organised by ICOMOS Greece on the problems relating to management of world heritage sites.

Ray Bondin is manager, corporate projects at Heritage Malta.
