Man Accused of forging VRT certificate

A 19-year-old man was accused of misappropriation of funds and assisting in the forgery of a Vehicle Roadworthiness Test (VRT).

Before magistrate Miriam Hayman, Matthew Micallef, from Zebbug, pleaded not guilty to misappropriating less than Lm1,000 from Anthony Saliba in March, to assisting in the forgery of a VRT certificate and allowing someone to drive a car to without a paid road license and insurance cover on 3 March.

Police Inspector Angelo Gafà prosecuted while lawyers Dr Franco Debono and Dr Marion Camilleri assisted the accused.
